Making her professional debut in 1999, Kasumi marks her 27th year as a Kinbaku artist as of 2026.
Raised from early childhood in a household that taught traditional Japanese tea ceremony (Sado) and flower arrangement (Kado), she grew up deeply immersed in Japan's unique aesthetics and spirituality.
Through this upbringing, she discovered a shared essence and aesthetic connection between traditional Japanese culture and classical Kinbaku, leading her to develop her own signature "Kasumi Style."
Today, she actively travels and teaches her techniques and philosophy not only within Japan but also across Europe, Australia, and Asia. She is deeply dedicated to researching and teaching the shared aesthetics, spirituality, and physical expression found in Japanese culture and Kinbaku, viewing the transmission of this knowledge to the next generation as her vital mission.
Furthermore, having personally known and interacted with legendary, now-deceased Japanese Kinbaku masters, she considers it her important duty to pass down their personalities, philosophies, and stories from that era.

Career Timeline
1999: Made her professional debut. Began her career focusing on SM play, live performances, and video productions.
Around 2000: Met and received guidance from Denki Akechi.
Around 2002: Moved away from fetish/bondage styles to dedicate herself fully as a traditional Kinbaku artist.
2014: Founded her original label, "Wa to Miyabi no Kikaku" (Harmony and Elegance Projects). Began producing Kinbaku DVDs, photo books, and traditional tenugui hand towels.
Around the Same Period: Expanded her international teaching and performance tours while continuing to network with many prominent Kinbaku artists in Japan.
Around 2015: Studied under Akira Naka. During this same period, she spent two years working as both a rope model and a Kinbaku artist at Norio Sugiura’s Kinbaku Sajiki.
Subsequent Years: After gaining extensive experience as a student and performance model under Akira Naka, she went independent to establish her current "Kasumi Style."
Currently, she focuses her efforts on nurturing a select few successors to inherit her philosophy and techniques.
